David Morrissey, Col. Brandon scenes, Sense & Sensibility

Just testing out how Adobe Premiere Elements 4 lets you upload files directly to YouTube. (It works pretty well!) And I thought I’d post some more Col. Brandon clips! Can’t get enough of Col. Brandon! I used to have Windows Vista, but Premiere Elements 4 crashed and was unusable on it. Now that I’ve downgraded back to XP, I’m hopeful that it’ll work. I like Premiere Elements. It’s my favorite Windows video editor so far.

Judging by this scene alone, I LOVE the cast, but HATE this version! It’s so awkward! The music especially. I much prefer Patrick Doyle’s score and everything else in the movie that I love.

    @Rickmanlover His voice… *begins daydreaming*

@apban I agree…just for the next adaptation a sort of into austen of S&S and please let someone fling willoughy over the cliffs after he’s been kneed into his balls.
You simply fall in love with brandon…I have always seen rickman as the dear col…but now I have to say David is my main man! I so wanted him to do some poetry too…sighs

@msinvincible2000 willoughby yes, but marianne grows on me…I like her better than Kate…

@Aiglea I agree completely I merely watched the ang lee film for Alan Rickman, but I really like David as well…the soft little sigh at finding willoughby at the cottage after he leaves….heart breaking….and his small little smiles…just kill me with love

I was totally opposed to this version of Sense and Sensibility. Partly because of Emma Thompson and Kate Winslet. But, I must admit, mostly because of Alan Rickman.

But this guy is really good! I think he fits the role well and now I’m going to have to see the BBC version. I like David Morrisey’s Brandon quite a bit. Thanks for posting this!!

I like both and there’s nothing wrong with that. :)

  8. Aiglea says:

Yeah, that devilish frown looks very good on Morrissey.

On the side note, I’m very happy that there’s another David-fan :D ! Most people like Rickman and detest Morrissey (very weird, it’s nothing wrong to like both, right?)…

I completely agree, they fleshed out the backstory more between Marianne and Col. Brandon. He also has a delicious scowl.

  10. msinvincible2000 says:

This Marianne and this Willoughb are so ugly!!!

Geez, I miss the beautiful Kate Winslet and the terribly handsome Greg Wise

  11. Aiglea says:

Well, David Morrissey also did a great job. I’ve seen both versions (1995 and this one) and both Brandons are very good. I’m a Rickman-fan and I’ve never heard of David Morrissey before (well, not untill I’ve wachted the 2008 version). But, to tell you the truth, I like Morrissey’s version more than Rickman’s version. It could have been that I’ve wachted the 2008 version before the 1995 version.

I’m really frustrated, but if I have to choose, I will pick David.

    Alan Rickman IS Brandon. Stop.

    *sigh* Yes please…

It’s not so easy to say who is better colonel… Firstly I was shocked because the first Brandon I’ve seen was Alan Rickman – and I fell in love with his Brandon inmediately :) But now I must admit that David Morrissey also did a great job. They both are good and it depends on each of us who we prefer. So for me it’s still AR… but if I didn’t know him I can imagine very well to favour DM.

    me too!

David Morrissey and Alan Rickman did a wonderful performance but U can’t avoid to tell that D.M. is my favorite. He looks younger than A.R. and of course he is more goergous and cute.

Oh that moment when he realise Marianne is falling for Willoby is so heart wrenching. Especially when you see how alive he look first visits them and gives her some music and his happiness at seeing her well. David Morrissey did a fantastic job in this. I wish there could have been more scenes of him and Marianne at the beginning before willoby arrived just showing that Marianne did like him but didn’t know it herself.

  19. Rickmanlover says:

Not bad, but I prefer Mr. Alan Rickman as Col. Brandon ^^

The glare! I love the glare!

  21. dodopuffi says:

Started the vid just with my fave situation with Brandon – she falls and he’s right there for her. What a nice strong man to catch her… I wished someone would pick me up like that if I fainted :-)

  22. CancerousPiesRTasty says:

    oh that’s a wonderful suggestion!

  23. theGoodguyChuck82 says:

when tennant does not want to play the dr i think david morrissey would make a great replacement. i know he’s in the christmas special this year but they’ll work something out like he’s the future incarnation of the dr. via 11th dr

  24. trunksGav says:

is this to be the new timelord when tennant leaves i wonder

  25. 31historygeek says:

Love it, thanks for the glaring one first.
