I have this virus…I put my infected HD into another computer and have been scanning it with Malwarebytes and it hasn’t found any infected files or viruses! Is it possible that it is hidden somewhere else? I also have tryed scanning it with clam and AV using ubuntu live cd and it didn’t find anything…any ideas on what I should do next? After scanning it a few times I replaced it in the infected comp and still had the same Welcome Loop problem with no log in available…

@gekko101 most dell machines use a OEM version of windows xp, so if you have that version of cd and code you reinstall should work. if you use wrong version key will not work. check what you have install first by the key

    Hey brit.

When I go to the recovery console and I try to type in some commands to copy over the files from the XP CD to the machine to bypess the log on and log off crap. I get access denied but I cant get into the machine to change the actual administrator settings. So I am stuck….Can I use a regular XP home CD – and use the key on the Dell’s case ..for a fresh reinstall? (its a dell)

i dont understand how to use this. i searched for it on the web and clicked on the download link, but there are multiple items. which one do I download?

and once I have burnt it to a CD, what do I then do? Will it automatically open and start up if I put the CD into the infected computer as I can’t even log on the computer. What do you mean by booting?

  16. Britec09 says:

@dj6658 use a bootable virus scanner like dr web cure it live cd

hi when you say plug the hard drive into another PC do you mean replace it with the existing drive or have them both plugged in at once…I have this virus on a netbook obviously with a 2.5″ drive, I have an additional desktop and a laptop…the desktop has multiple hard drive slots but obviously it takes 3.5″, the laptop takes a 2.5″ but obviously only has one slot. PLEASE HELP

note: the netbook runs xp but was preloaded (it has no CD drive)

I boot into my computer with that CD, can I also just copy that userinit.exe file from that CD onto my hard disk without going into Recovery Console? Because I did everything like you said in your video, but when I type in that expand thing, it just tells me “The path or file specified is not valid”
    Can you please help me?
