missing cd/dvd drive repair


this is my video of how to repair a lost cd/dvd drive some times it dissapears from my computer this video will sort that out SUBSCRIBE PLEASE !!!! In the navigation pane, locate and then click the following registry subkey: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318} In the right pane, click UpperFilters. Note You may also see an UpperFilters.bak registry entry. You do not have to remove that entry. Click UpperFilters only. If you do not see the UpperFilters registry entry, you still might have to remove the LowerFilters registry entry. To do this, go to step 8. On the Edit menu, click Delete. When you are prompted to confirm the deletion, click Yes. In the right pane, click LowerFilters. Note If you do not see the LowerFilters registry entry, unfortunately this content cannot help you any further. Go to the “Next Steps” section for information about how you can find more solutions or more help on the Microsoft Web site. On the Edit menu, click Delete. When you are prompted to confirm the deletion, click Yes. Exit Registry Editor. Restart the computer Microsoft Windows XP Click Start, and then click Run

    @lepoidevin1984 what if the drive cannot be seen in the device manager, meaning the computer cannot see the DVD drive so theres nothing to uninstall… what next…

    at step 10 I only see a lower filters file no upper filters do i just delete it any way

    hey thanks a lot but still a slight problem it worked with my new computer which has windows 7, but with my older computer vista i found the files but it gives me an error saying that i connot delate the file so if anyone has any ideas pleas message me

    Thank you so very much for the information, it’s great. I now have my cd/dvd working without taking it to a repair shop. I tried everything for day with no success. I ran across you site, tried it and just as you said fixed the problem. Thank you again you are a blessing.

    upon viewing my video of my missing DVD drive, you will be very puzzled, since i have done ALL this and more, supposedly there is an auto fix feature for vista, WHICH STILL DON’T FIX MY PROBLEM

    i literally have tried everything, and gotten no where.
