OS X Leopard boot on an Asus 1000HA Eee PC.

6/16/09: I have not bought an OSX compatible wireless card, so there is no internet on the OSX boot. However, I was able to get VGA out from a trick I found on google. The machine currently dual boots with Windows XP, which has 100% functionality. Everything works except sleep and WLAN. Apparently the fix is a new wireless card. 2. RamiroR says:

doing that, you are doing the opposite.
If you’re gonna use AC, take the battery out.
It’s a good habit but I don’t even do it xD

Where did you download WLAN driver?

I couldn’t use the guide verbatium because of the differences, but it was very close. The web cam works but I haven’t use those other programs. I doubt imovie would work very well, or if it did, it would be slow.

I’m looking to buy one of these now. What’s different about the H and HA in terms of the guide? Do you recommend me getting another netbook to hackintosh? I really like the features of the HA and dual booting would be sick. does OSX have any sort of problems withother programs such as web cam, garage band, imovie, iphoto etc?
    Thanks

Might be too late now, but I’ve replaced the one in my HE with a dell 1490 and it was what I consider pretty easy, but lay out all of the screws on a desk in the same orientation as you took them off and that will help a lot. Also look for a guide on disassembly as there are a few little tricks that will make it a lot easier and help keep you from screwing something up

external hard drives aren’t necessary to install an OS….

  13. Nishil24 says:

I see, BTW did you have to buy an external hard drive?

  14. 208476 says:

From what I’ve read, the miniPCI slot is accessible from a removable cover on the bottom.

Do google searches or use the links in the more info section for this…

  15. 208476 says:

Skin? This is an operating system, NOT a skin.

  16. Nishil24 says:

Also is it hard to install the WLAN card? If it isn’t too expensive I’m willing to buy it, but I’d like to know if it’s hard to install it (i’m a noob), and if so do you know which one to get (like a link to the one I’d need) lol, thanks.

  17. Nishil24 says:

I’m also a college student, so wait I don’t get it. You’re getting connected to the WLAN through windows XP? so when the Mac skin is running, does it still work, or do you have to switch to windows XP to have that work?

  18. 208476 says:

No, but it dual boots with XP, which works with the WLAN card. I am in college and have to be reasonable with money and I can’t yet justify $30 for a dual OS compatible wlan card when it works just fine with XP. Expectedly, I use XP almost exclusively. One day I will get the card!

  19. Nishil24 says:

Does the WLAN work now? I’m just wondering because I’m getting my asus 1000HA next week, and I’d love to have this skin on here if I can get everything to work.

  20. nfinck0707 says:

I actually haven’t heard of the “more info” link

  21. 208476 says:

Not sure if you’ve heard of the “more info” link but no time like the present to learn!

  22. nfinck0707 says:

How did you do this? I’m trying to do this with my Eee PC 1000HA as well. Did you use a Retail version of OSX? Did you use a Boot-132 to help you? Any help would be awesome!

  23. PantsSquad says:

did you get the wifi to work. The stock wifi card is incompatible with osx. i just bought another card with wireless n that i know is compatible because i am still dual booting into windows 7 and osx

  24. Knowurconception says:

    wow that’s sick. Good job.

  25. recklessness1987 says:

no it’s not. it has sound.
