i give you a better tip, right clik(or ctrl+clik) on your stack, lets say documents, and check “show as folder” then if you want a custom icon just change the icon of the document s folder, and here we go..withouth put a new unuseful file in your folder

hey dragonpme nice tutorial. I just figured out today how to change the icon for a stack properly. You do a “get info” on the folder in Finder, then drag the icon you want into the small preview of the folder in the top left corner. Then right click the stack in the dock and choose Display As: Folder

Hope this helps! Love your tutorials:)

Hey PME a thing I learned about the downloads stack that comes with Leopard, you know the one thats in your home folder once you install leopard, its not a good idea to have programs in their, having programs or DMGs, kind of slow down the computer not as much when your using it, but when its starting up, so If you make a seperate download folder on the desktop or something and put all your downloads in their it will be a little faster.

You could always go with an older PowerMac G4. They’re pretty cheap and still work well.
