Wait for the new command prompt to open. When it does, press CRTL+ALT+DELETE. 4. In Task Manager, go to the Processes tab and end the explorer.exe process (the Windows shell). 5. Close out of Task Manager and exit the 1st command prompt you opened, being careful not to exit out of the new one. 6. In the new Command Prompt type “cd ..” without quotes. 7. In the Command Prompt type “explorer.exe” without quotes. 8. The Windows shell should start. It may set up your desktop and documents folders.
