Partition Recovery When Windows Boot Record Gets Damaged

In Microsoft Windows computer, boot record is the most critical data structure that enables booting of your system and make your system usable. In some situations, when you start your Microsoft Windows computer, you might find some errors related to missing boot record. These errors prevent you from booting your system properly and access hard drive partitions. This behavior renders all of the hard drive partitions inaccessible and cause severe partition loss. In such critical circumstances, Windows Partition Recovery become essential to get your valuable data back.

In a practical scenario, you might come across below error message while trying to boot your Windows-based computer:

“Searching for Boot Record from CD/DVD.. Not Found

Searching for Boot Record from BBS-0: [Intel UNDI, PXE-2.0 (build 082) ] OK

Searching for Boot Record from SCSI.. Not Found

Boot Failure
Reboot and Select proper Boot device

or Insert Boot Media in selected Boot device

Press any key when ready”

At this point, you need to find out the cause of this behavior and then resolve it by carrying out Partition Recovery.

Root of the issue

As stated in the above error message, this issue occurs due to damaged or missing boot record of your Windows computer. The corruption might take place due to virus infection, improper system shutdown, hardware problems, damaged system data structures or invalid settings in system BIOS (Basic Input/Output System).

Resolution

First of all, check the BIOS settings to see whether the S.M.A.R.T (Self-Monitoring, Analysis and Reporting Technology) feature is enabled. Disable it and then try to start your system. If the problem persists, this feature is outdated. After that, check the boot sequence settings of your system. If you are still getting the same problem, hard drive formatting is required.

Although, formatting is able to remove all of the hard drive errors and make your system usable in majority of situations, but it also has a downside. It removes all of the hard drive partitions and cause complete partition loss. Such cases require Partition Recovery Software for absolute, quick and easy recovery of lost partitions.

The Partition Recovery applications are capable of thoroughly scanning the affected hard drive and recover all of the lost partitions. These tools are completely safe and easy to use.

Stellar Phoenix Windows Data Recovery is the most effective and powerful application for quick and simple recovery. It supports recovery of FAT32, VFAT, NTFS and NTFS5 file system partitions. The software is designed for Microsoft Windows 7 RC1, Vista, 2003, XP and 2000.

iPod 5th Gen Nano Gets FM Radio!

The wait is finally over.

It is like we’ve been forever waiting for the icon of the portable mp3 player to add a FM tuner. The wait is finally over. Apple’s launch this week of its fifth-generation iPod Nano, the first iPod to include a video camera and a FM tuner drew the attention of tech nerds and bloggers. The video camera would come in handy but the FM tuner was the much anticipated addition! Yes, we can listen to our favorite radio stations once again with this new feature without carrying another cheap mp3 player along us.

How does it work?

The navigation between stations is ‘iPod’ easy! It is really cool to note that the earphones act as antennas receiving the signal for the FM tuner. This newly launched FM tuner also enables DVR-like, on-demand functionality to live radio, allowing listeners to pause a song from a live radio feed, rewind it or resume listening after switching to another station. Yes, you can pause live radio! Apple is calling this cool new feature as “Live Pause”. Additionally, there is also a feature to tag your favorite songs which are added to the iTunes (when we sync), where it can be bought later via “Buy from FM” platform.

What next?

Oh, did I mention that this new iPod has a built-in pedometer too? You can take a walk with your little iPod listening to your favorite songs (or radio!) and at the same time measuring the number of steps you have walked. Okay, now that this little device has so many cool things stuffed like a Christmas stocking, I was wondering what else could be added? I am sure that you would agree that Apple should add a FM transmitter along with the FM tuner. Personally, I am tired of these cheap FM transmitters that do not transmit quality sound to my car speakers. If apple can add that feature to the Nano, it will definitely make the long car rides more pleasurable.
