Foursquare is bringing Explore, a popular feature from their mobile platform, over to browsers. Explore is designed to use the billions of check-ins and millions of tips left by Foursquare users to help find places to eat and shop. What better way to make a decision than with the help of millions of Foursquare users who have been around and seen it all? Not only does it use the giant check-in and tip library, but it also uses information from yourself and your friends. This way, the recommendations are catered specifically to the kinds of things you enjoy.

The web version should be familiar to Foursquare users, but there are some slight improvements over the original mobile version. On the mobile version, you can only use Explore to find places that are near your location, but with the web version you can seek recommendations from anywhere in the world.

Obviously, with the web version you get much more screen space to work with. This makes it easy to gauge distance and come up with a better plan of attack.

Foursquare is really stepping their game up, and a personal recommendation engine that you can get access to on the go or on your computer brings their feature set to another level. It allows them to compete with social networks and other recommendation engines at the same time.

It was instead Minecraft Beta, an evolving piece of software with new features added (almost) every month.

As of November 18th, however, the href="http://www.makeuseof.com/tags/beta/">beta officially ends and version 1.0 of the game becomes available. It will include completed versions of features that debuted in the href="http://www.pcgamer.com/2011/09/13/minecraft-adventure-update-impressions/">Adventure Update and a huge variety of small enhancements such as new blocks, new monsters, and new achievements.

Using the touchpad is intuitive and convenient, and tablet screens don’t present the size limitations of mobile phones. When you browse the web using a tablet however, you will notice that many websites automatically load their mobile version. This is because the browser you are using identifies itself as a mobile based application to the websites you are visiting.

Being restricted to the mobile version of a website can be annoying since they often lack features offered by their desktop version. If you would prefer to view the desktop version of websites on your Google Android Honeycomb tablet, you will be delighted to hear that there are two simple ways to achieve this. Read on to find out how you can toggle between the desktop and mobile versions on your Honeycomb tablet.

Change The Honeycomb Browser User Agent Setting

The Honeycomb browser’s user agent is set to ‘Android’, which most websites interpret as ‘smartphone’, thus displaying the compact version of their website. To change this, you need to change the respective user agent string.

• Open the native browser on your Android Honeycomb tablet.
• Type about:debug in the address / URL bar and press Enter.
• Don’t expect anything to happen; it will probably look like nothing happened.
• Next, open the browser’s settings via the icon in the top right corner.

This actually allows websites to differentiate between tablets and smartphones. Use A Different Browser

You may find that some mobile websites are actually more convenient than their desktop counterparts. In this case you probably don’t want to change the user agent setting since switching back and forth between different settings is quite a hassle. The alternative solution is to use a different browser which allows you to toggle easily between the desktop and mobile version of a website.

I can safely say that I’m a hardcore PC gaming fan, if you take into consideration the hundreds of computer games that I have downloaded on my computer, and I found the ways to find and download full version computer games, without paying anything.

You do need to research a bit in order to find the best sites for free downloads, but I can help you with that, and decrease your research time by hours.

Best Sites To Download Free Computer Games:

1. Game pass from real player. This site gives you free trials, and you can download full, quality games on your computer. That free trial can be updated, so you don’t need to pay anything.

2. Game spot. In some cases, they will offer older games to be downloaded for free. But, in most cases, these games are more than three years old.

3. Morpheus. Unfortunately not all countries can access this site right now, but it does offer free game downloads. The worse part is that in many cases their files also come with viruses. Other good downloads offered by them are upgrades and patches, which can be used to make the transition from trial game to the full version.

4. Kazaa. You can use this program in much more countries than Morpheus, and you can find new games as soon as they are launched. Just make sure you have a spyware tool that can scan files after you download them. Also, look for installation instructions, as these can be missing when you download games online.

Another alternative is to join a paid PC games download site such as Fast Game Download. These computer games download sites allows you to download unlimited PC games for a one time fee.

I used these sites to download and play games such as The Sims, World of Warcraft or Gears of War.

Your computer can still be in danger even if you have already got security suite program running, and that annoying malware program may actually be harming your PC.  This is one of the reasons that consumers should use another malware scanner as a sort of backup to their primary antivirus system.

You have a couple different options for running a security scan in a completely safe Windows operating environment. The first option is to run Windows in Safe Mode and make use of a Portable Scanner.  In this method, Windows loads and executes only the programs that it needs to run. This means that if you do in fact have an infectious Malware program on your machine, chances are pretty good that it will not be running.

Using a Portable Scanner can help identify and eliminate any issues that your main antivirus program may have missed and is quite easy to use.  Simply download the program onto a flash drive or disc.  Boot your machine up in Safe Mode, and execute the program to Scan your computer.  You may have to safe the program off to your desktop if your PC does not have USB capabilities.

Another option that you have is to boot from a CD which is a bit more complicated than simply downloading the program and then running it.  One requirement for this step is that you will have to download a good malware removal program. You will be required to burn the contents from within the ISO file to a CD.

When you have the disc made, you can load it and run it under safe mode to perform the scan of your system.  This program runs a text based version of Linux, which in turn uses the internet to update its own database and scan you computer.  The requirement here of course being the ability to reach the internet, which may not necessarily be the case if Linux does not have the proper access to drivers used by your networking hardware.  If a connection to the internet is not achievable, then you can use a flash drive containing the latest version of the software.

There is one danger to using this option and that is the fact that windows system files may be altered during the process which leaves the chance of not being able to boot Windows.  If you feel that you’re main antivirus program is not completely doing the job, then you may want to look into secondary antivirus solution to help identify and eliminate malicious software on your PC.

One very frequently observed Malware is the – Internet Explorer 7 Latest Version Malware Email. Many malicious emails faked as official Microsoft messages are currently being emailed. The messages asks the mail receiver to click a link supposedly to download the latest version of Internet Explorer 7. However, the messages are not from Microsoft and clicking the link will not download Internet Explorer 7. Instead, those who click the link may unknowingly download and install a Trojan that can modify the Windows registry and other windows files. The Trojan can also connect to other malicious websites and download and install more Malware components. Those responsible for the Malware emails have attempted to make the messages seem more legitimate by including seemingly official newsletter subscription details and secondary links that lead to genuine Microsoft websites. The hackers have also used a spoofed email address to make it appear that the emails originate from Microsoft.

If you haven’t already heard, Microsoft plans to discontinue support of the Microsoft Windows XP operating system.  What does this mean for you?  It doesn’t mean anything if you don’t have this operating system, in which case you have nothing to worry about.  If you do still have the Windows XP operating system, then this could mean a number of different things.

The fact of the matter is that this operating system will most likely remain safe well after the time that Microsoft decides that it is no longer going to support it.  This is due to a number of different reasons including the fact that it will possess more the 12 years worth of Windows updates as well as patches for security by that time.  This will help to make it one of the most secure and stable operating systems available, even in the coming years.

One other important point to remember is that Malware does change at a quicker rate that the rate at which Windows operating systems change, so the chances of you having to worry about threats targeted at Windows XP operating systems in the year 2014 is slim to none.  Chances are malicious software will be written to target new operating systems that contain security leaks and other vulnerability issues.

If you are concerned about having an operating system that will  not be supported, then you may want to consider purchasing a newer Windows operating system.  Before doing so, however, you’ll want to look into whether or not the common programs or applications that you are using on a daily basis with your current XP system will work on a newer Windows operating system version like Vista or Windows 7.  Compatibility can be one of the biggest concerns when going from one operating system to the next, and should be addressed before making a purchase of a newer system.

In most cases if you have a program that is not compatible with a new version of Windows, you may have then ability to run in a compatibility mode on the newer machine in order to execute programs in the same older environment that they were originally intended to be run.  This is the case with the new Windows 7 operating system which gives you the ability to run in XP mode, which allows you to run the older operating system in a setup know as a virtual machine.

If you enjoy the XP operating system, but don’t want to be left behind when the rest of the world moves forward into the newer era of Windows operating systems, then you may want to look into purchasing a newer operating system.  Chances are you can still run your XP specific programs one way or another, and you’ll be able to get support for your system when 2014 finally does role around.

The new software obviously comes up with new technology and easy and better performance. But sometimes they are so complicated that its hard for the common people to cope with the new version. But a little training can do the trick for anyone. The new software often require latest hardware and software specifications which can make you update the computer’s configuration.

If a computer is already running Windows 98, Windows Me, Windows NT Workstation 4.0 Service Pack 5 (SP5), or Windows 2000 Professional, you can upgrade it directly to Windows XP. You cannot directly upgrade computers running earlier versions of Windows such as Windows 95 or Windows NT Workstation 3.51. These operating systems require interim upgrades to a version of Windows that supports a direct upgrade to XP.

Before starting an upgrade, there are a few considerations that you should take into account. These considerations include the following:

Ensure that the computer meets the hardware and software compatibility requirements for Microsoft Windows XP. Consult the Windows Catalog on the Web for supported hardware. You should also generate a system compatibility report prior to starting the upgrade process. This report analyzes potential problems that you might encounter after an upgrade and provides possible solutions. You can generate this report by selecting the Check System Compatibility option on the splash screen that appears when you insert the installation CD. You can also generate the report when starting Setup from the command line by typing winnt32/Check upgrade only.

If the compatibility check reports any hardware or software incompatibilities, you should obtain and apply the proper updates before proceeding with the upgrade.

Uninstall any incompatible software until you can load new compatible replacements. Because XP is relatively new, you should take the time to check the system’s basic input/output system (BIOS) version to verify that the version is the latest revision available. You should also verify that BIOS-based virus protection is disabled before initiating the Windows XP upgrade. A BIOS antivirus feature interprets attempts by Setup to modify the boot sector as virus-like activity and prevents the modifications, causing Setup to fail. Back up important files and data before performing an upgrade to avoid potential loss. There is always the possibility of system failure during any major operation. Scan for viruses and remove viruses from the computer before performing an upgrade. Uncompress any drive that is compressed with anything other than NTFS compression before performing an upgrade. The only type of compression that is supported by XP is NTFS compression. XP does not support DriveSpace, DoubleSpace, or any third-party compression formats.
