My 3 Favorite & Easiest Ways To Download Videos Off The Web

It seems that every year a promising new video service emerges (most recently, perhaps Vevo) and another hits the dust (most recently, MegaUpload/MegaVideo). As the trend continues, we storage junkies must adapt. We’ve talked a lot on this subject in the past, but I’m confident that you’ll find my ways to be the easiest and most effective. Storing remote video content locally is a challenge no more, and I’ve got three tried and true methods to tip you on to.

If you’ve ever been to a website, watched a hilarious clip, and thought to yourself, “Wow, I wish I could keep that one forever. What if it gets deleted?”, you’re now looking at the correct article.

Downloading Flash Files Using Your Browser

Saikat wrote an awesome article nearly three years ago that still works like a charm. This method is still my favorite as it can be performed in every browser available. Although the method still works like a charm, exactly as it’s described in Saikat’s article, let’s go back over the process for Firefox.

Start by going to a page with a Flash video on it. YouTube is a good example. You can tell if a website is using Flash to power their video front-end by right clicking on the video itself and looking at the context menu. If Flash is mentioned, there you go.

After you’ve found your video, right click on the page (not the video) and select “View Page Info“.

Now, click the “Media” tab across the top. Scroll through the list until you find the content with the “Type” matching “Embed“. Click on it, and then “Save As…“. A download prompt will come up and you’ll be saving the SWF file right to your drive.

Using Offliberty

Offliberty is my best-kept secret when it comes to pulling video content off of the web. I’m not sure if it can get any more easier than this solution.

There are a lot of ad-filled websites that extract videos from YouTube for you. There’s also a lot of sticky, bad adware that you can download to get it done. With Offliberty, you just paste the URL and then wait for it to crunch some numbers, then download.

It’ll take a few seconds and then your results are in. You can actually rip the MP3 or the entire video from YouTube with this service, but for the sake of this article, let’s go with the video.

Offliberty supports a lot of the most popular video and music websites. Just plug a URL in and give it a shot, pretty good chance that it’ll be able to instantly convert and spit out what you’re looking for.

Just a little warning: Offliberty uses a script to randomize their page background. I refreshed anywhere between 10 and 15 times and one of the backgrounds was set to a very faint image of a male and a female, the female being topless. It was nothing explicit or hardcore and I’d classify it as “artsy,” but don’t use this at work. You shouldn’t be, anyway!

NetVideoHunter for Firefox

NetVideoHunter Video Downloader is one of my favorite Firefox add-ons. This page explains the usage of the add-on better than any, but let me give you a quick rundown.

Download and install the plugin. Restart Firefox. Go to any website that streams video. Start the video. Look at your Add-ons Bar for the NVH icon and click on it.

Here, you’ll see a list of every video that you’ve loaded this browser session. From this menu, you can watch the videos or download them. If using a site like YouTube where many formats are supported, every format should be available in the menu (as you can see it is in the screenshot). Can’t be much simpler than clicking “Download” and saving the video locally.

Easily Create Screencast Videos With Kazam Screencaster [Linux]

If you’ve ever searched around on YouTube for walkthroughs, tutorials, or video reviews of popular software or Linux distributions, you may find them to be pretty useful.

Such videos are much better than a written guide or review because you can see how something works or where you can find it. You can also hear the person who made the video talk about what he or she is doing, along with any other notes. A video, therefore, is much more effective.

Let’s see how we can construct them ourselves.

How Do You Make Them?

That’s great, but how do they make those videos in the first place? What do you do if you want to make a video yourself? You’ve may have seen some people use their video camera to point to the monitor, but those look very unprofessional when compared to others that show only what the monitor shows, without the monitor acting as a border around the video. Those people use screencasting software.

What Does A Screencasting Software Do?

Screencasting software works much like the PrtSc button on your keyboard, as known as “Print Screen”. In Windows, this button copies the entire screen onto your clipboard which you can simply paste into Paint or any other image editing software. In Linux, the button copies the entire screen and then opens a window to ask you if you want to copy it to the clipboard or save it as a file.

However, screencasting software captures the screen and makes a video out of it instead of an image, and also lets you capture the sound that would usually be coming out of your speakers or whatever is picked up by any attached microphones.

About Kazam

Kazam Screencaster is an easily available free screencasting tool that you can use on Linux to make such videos. There are a couple of other tools out in the wild that you can use, but Kazam seems to be one of the easiest to work with. It seems that Kazam is only officially available for Ubuntu as there are PPAs for it, which is a shame, but I’m sure that someone can take the source code and compile it themselves on other distributions.

Installation

To install it, you’ll need to run this command in the terminal if you use Ubuntu 11.10:

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:bigwhale/kazam-oneric && sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get upgrade && sudo apt-get install kazam

If you use a previous version of Ubuntu, run:

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:and471-kazam-daily-builds && sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get upgrade && sudo apt-get install kazam

If it asks you if you want to continue at certain steps, make sure to hit “y” or enter for each request, depending on which button it asks you to hit. Wait for that to complete, and then you can launch Kazam by searching for it in Unity, Gnome Shell, or menus, depending on what desktop environment you’re using.

Usage

From here on, Kazam should be easy to use.

You can immediately start recording a video, with or without sound.

After pressing start, Kazam will do a countdown until the recording starts, and you can stop recording by clicking on its icon in the tray at the top right of your screen.

Once you finish, you can save or edit with the Kazam software for quality and where to export to, including YouTube. That’s all there really is!

Conclusion

Kazam is ridiculously easy for such a fine screencasting tool. For those who don’t need a whole lot of settings and let the dedicated video editor do the editing, Kazam is a great way to make those screencasts.

What’s your favorite screencasting tool? For Windows and Linux? Let us know in the comments!

8 Solutions To Loop YouTube Videos & Watch Them Again

class="align-right" src="http://main.makeuseoflimited.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/12/youtube-logo.jpg?323f2c" alt="" />It might be a Photoshop tutorial on one hand and Rebecca Black on the other, but you shouldn’t be shy to admit that there have been times you have looped a YouTube video and watched it umpteen times. You might have clicked that ‘Replay’ button a dozen times? Or was it more?

That Replay button sure took a beating and all because YouTube does not provide a natural, human-friendly way to loop a streaming video. The above two needs aside, I do like to loop a few videos myself…mostly when I am trying to learn something or a hummable song. So, I usually sit back – pick one of the ways described below – and put the videos in a continuous loop till I switch them off.

You can too. Just try them all once and then pick the one you like.

href="http://endlessvideo.com/">Endless YouTube

class="aligncenter" style="border: 0pt none;" src="http://main.makeuseoflimited.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/12/youtube-loop01.png?323f2c" alt="" width="580" height="274" />

Endless YouTube allows you to set a YouTube to loop a specific number of times. Plus, with this service you can also loop a part of a YouTube video rather than the entire one. The easiest way to use the site is to alter the YouTube URL in the address bar. For e.g. if you’re watching the The Dark Knight trailer at “http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bx2rhzcIVxo” you can watch it endlessly at “http://www.endlessyoutube.com/watch?v= bx2rhzcIVxo “.

You can also go directly to the site and paste the video ID code in the box provided. You can set the part which you want to loop with the two time boxes. (See href="http://www.makeuseof.com/dir/endlessyoutube-loop-youtube-video/">Directory mention)

href="http://www.infinitelooper.com/">Infinite Looper

class="aligncenter" style="border: 0pt none;" src="http://main.makeuseoflimited.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/12/youtube-loop02.png?323f2c" alt="" width="580" height="460" />

You can use the handy bookmarklet or just copy-paste the YouTube video URL in the box provided. You can also use the blue slider to a point in the video to loop only that section. This web service is among the simplest to use.

href="http://playinurtubez.com/">PlayinUrTubez

class="aligncenter" style="border: 0pt none;" src="http://main.makeuseoflimited.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/12/youtube-loop03.png?323f2c" alt="" width="580" height="327" />

PlayerTubez comes with a stylish interface. The site is ‘specialized’ for YouTube playlists. Of course, you can use it to play single videos too. You can enter a user’s name and get all his hosted videos as a playlist. The web app has quite a few controls like a feature to play the highest quality video first and to hide the unplayable videos from the playlist. All the remaining default features of YouTube are also available. You can search for videos from here and also connect to the video page on YouTube. (See href="http://www.makeuseof.com/dir/playinurtubez-play-youtube-videos-in-a-loop/">Directory mention)

href="http://www.tubereplay.com/">TubeReplay

class="aligncenter" style="border: 0pt none;" src="http://main.makeuseoflimited.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/12/youtube-loop04.png?323f2c" alt="" width="580" height="240" />

Take a YouTube URL, paste it into the box and hit Replay. The video keeps on looping till you shut it off. You can also try the links to the two looping ideas given on the site which turn your monitor into a fireplace and an aquarium. (See href="http://www.makeuseof.com/dir/tubereplay-auto-replays-youtube/">Directory mention)

href="http://www.youtuberepeater.com/">YouTube Repeater

class="aligncenter" style="border: 0pt none;" src="http://main.makeuseoflimited.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/12/youtube-loop06.png?323f2c" alt="" width="573" height="592" />

The site looks a bit crowded, but you don’t have to visit the site to use its YouTube looping tool. You simply insert ‘repeater’ between ‘youtube’ and ‘.com’ then press Enter. Your video starts playing in a loop. You can also loop a portion of a video by fixing the start and end points. Launch the mini-player if you want the looping video to play in unobtrusively in the background.

Loop YouTube Videos with Chrome Extensions

href="https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/lnkdbjbjpnpjeciipoaflmpcddinpjjp">SmartVideo for YouTube

class="aligncenter" style="border: 0pt none;" src="http://main.makeuseoflimited.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/12/youtube-loop08.png?323f2c" alt="" width="580" height="295" />

The Chrome extension’s primary purpose is to improve YouTube play by controlling the way it is buffered. You can set your preferences so that the extension’s ‘smart buffer’ kicks in. One of the features included is that you can set videos to loop. This extension supports embedded HTML5 videos as well as YouTube videos.

href="https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/gfllkgkeiciklnenppokkgkmbjnoeodn">YouTube Looper

class="aligncenter" style="border: 0pt none;" src="http://main.makeuseoflimited.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/12/youtube-loop09.png?323f2c" alt="" width="580" height="217" />

This Chrome extension for YouTube adds a simple ‘Loop this’ button to on the YouTube toolbar. Click on the button to make the videos play continuously.

Loop YouTube Videos with Firefox Add-ons

href="https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/youtube-auto-replay-11636/">YouTube Auto Replay

class="aligncenter" style="border: 0pt none;" src="http://main.makeuseoflimited.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/youtube-loop10.png?323f2c" alt="" width="580" height="179" />

Hit the Replay button to loop the entire video or specify the time to watch a section of it in a continuous loop. This Firefox add-on helps you to loop a YouTube video without a hassle.

Do this web services, extensions, and add-ons seem like overkill for what is a simple task? Well, you could always use your mouse to replay the video again and again. But ask anyone who likes to watch an instructional video or a specific part of it again and again, and he will disagree. So, tell us if you can make use of these tools to loop YouTube videos. Which is your favorite href="http://www.makeuseof.com/tags/youtube/">YouTube trick?

    5 Easy Ways To Download & Convert Online Videos

    class="align-right" src="http://main.makeuseoflimited.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/11/2011-11-28-15h14_15.jpg" alt="download videos from internet" />Streaming video websites are such a big part of our lives, it’s hard to remember a time when they didn’t exist. These websites revolutionized our computer video experience – no longer do we have to download every single video we want to watch – it’s all right there!

    But the opposite is also true. Sometimes sending a link or embedding a video is not enough, and we need the actual file, or only its soundtrack. And when that happens, the default FLV file format rarely cuts it. Luckily, there are several downloaders-converters out there that make it easy as pie to download videos and convert them into almost every possible format.

    Xenra

    href="http://www.xenra.com">Xenra is an easy-to-use web app which both downloads and converts YouTube videos into multiple formats. You can use it to either download whole videos, or extract entire audio tracks from YouTube videos.

    class="aligncenter" src="http://main.makeuseoflimited.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/11/2011-11-28-12h58_49.jpg" alt="download videos from internet" width="529" height="171" border="0" />

    It’s very easy to use. Simply enter a valid YouTube link in the address bar and click the big red shiny “Download Now” button. You can then choose which format you want your video or audio file to be in, choose its quality and control several other aspects of the download.

    class="aligncenter" src="http://main.makeuseoflimited.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/11/xenra-13.jpg" alt="download free videos" width="566" height="334" border="0" />

    When you’re done, click “Start Conversion”. Xenra will start by downloading the video to its servers, and then convert it into the requested format. The process is rather swift, depending of course, on the video you chose and the quality you selected.

    class="aligncenter" src="http://main.makeuseoflimited.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/11/xenra-2.jpg" alt="download free videos" width="572" height="383" border="0" />

    When it’s done, you can download the file, share it, embed it, and generally have fun with it.

    ClipConverter

    href="http://www.makeuseof.com/tag/download-clip-convert-web-videos-clipconverter/">ClipConverter is another excellent web app which can be used with multiple streaming video websites, not just YouTube. It can even convert or extract audio from video files you already have on your computer.

    To start, paste the video’s URL or upload the file you wish to convert.

    class="aligncenter" src="http://main.makeuseoflimited.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/11/clipconverter-15.jpg" alt="download free videos" width="581" height="205" border="0" />

    Now choose which format you want the downloaded file to be converted into. Here too you can download the entire video or extract only the audio. If you wish to download only part of the video, you can specify start and end times and get only that snippet of the video as the final product. When you’re done, click “Start!”.

    class="aligncenter" src="http://main.makeuseoflimited.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/11/clipconverter-2.jpg" alt="download videos" width="580" height="350" border="0" />

    ClipConverter downloads and converts your video – and does so extremely quickly – and presents a download link along with a QR code, for downloading directly to your phone.

    class="aligncenter" src="http://main.makeuseoflimited.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/11/clipconveretr-3.jpg" alt="download videos" width="438" height="343" border="0" />

    To speed things up even further, try ClipConverter’s href="http://www.clipconverter.cc/addon/">browser add-ons for Firefox, Chrome and Safari, or use the handy dandy href="http://www.clipconverter.cc/addon/">bookmarklet.

    ConvertVideoToAudio

    href="http://www.convertvideotoaudio.com/">ConvertVideoToAudio is not as slick as the former two web apps, and not nearly as fast. What it does have going for it, are some unique file formats most other such converters don’t offer.

    class="aligncenter" src="http://main.makeuseoflimited.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/11/convert-video-to-audio.jpg" alt="download videos" width="418" height="429" border="0" />

    The website itself is way too cluttered with ads, and there are no settings to choose from except format. Having said that, you may find it useful if you need to quickly download and covert an online video into one of these formats, and while you can’t control the quality, it ends up being surprisingly good.

    KeepTube

    href="http://keep-tube.com">KeepTube is another download and convert service which you can use in multiple ways, although only with YouTube videos. Similar to other web apps, KeepTube sports the copy & paste option, but another way is to add the word “keep” before the word “youtube” on any YouTube URL you’re currently watching.

    class="aligncenter" src="http://main.makeuseoflimited.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/11/keeptube-2.jpg" alt="keeptube-2" width="440" height="371" border="0" />

    Both the copy/paste method and the “keep” method will direct you to the KeepTube website, where you can choose your preferred quality. KeepTube can be used mainly for full video downloads (HD and HQ included), but you can also use it to convert videos into MP3s.

    class="aligncenter" src="http://main.makeuseoflimited.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/11/keeptube-1.jpg" alt="keeptube-1" width="580" height="405" border="0" />

    If this is not quick enough, you can download a href="http://keep-tube.com/greasemonkey-plugin.php">plugin for Firefox or Chrome, or use the href="http://keep-tube.com/download-youtube-videos.php">bookmarklet. Note that the web app will attempt to launch a Java applet. If this is not to your liking, you can use the non-Java version of the app.

    Freemake [Windows]

    If web apps are not your cup of tea, and you like the feel of a good desktop app under your feet, this is the option for you. href="http://www.freemake.com">Freemake is a fantastic video converter for Windows which we’ve href="http://www.makeuseof.com/tag/freemake-easy-video-converter-windows/">mentioned in the past, which now also offers Freemake’s href="http://www.freemake.com/free_video_downloader/">free video downloader.

    class="aligncenter" src="http://main.makeuseoflimited.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/11/freemake-1.jpg" alt="freemake-1" width="577" height="198" border="0" />

    This slick piece of software grabs your video links from the clipboard. Copy the video URL and simply click the “Paste URL” button. The software can be set up in advance with your favorite settings, and will start downloading and converting immediately. When it’s done, you can even play the new file directly from the app.

    If you turn off the one-click download option, you can set up the quality, format and location for each file separately. The downloader can also be used to extract audio from videos.

    class="aligncenter" src="http://main.makeuseoflimited.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/11/freemake-23.jpg" alt="download videos from internet" width="566" height="598" border="0" />

    Note that the software requires an installation of the latest version of .NET. If you don’t have it yet, it might take a little while to download.

    Conclusion

    Last time I actually needed to download and convert a YouTube video from the Internet, it proved to be quite a difficult task. But downloading an converting online videos has been getting increasingly easier, and after only a year or two, the Web is teeming with quick and simple options. Now I can’t wait for it to becomes even easier.

    Know of some more easy-to-use video downloaders that also convert? Know of an important option we missed? Share in the comments!

    The 4 Most Bizarre Music Videos Found On YouTube

    class="align-right" src="http://main.makeuseoflimited.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/11/rightalign1.png" alt="bizarre videos" />With the advent of href="http://www.makeuseof.com/tags/video">online video, it’s never been easier to record a song, make a music video of it, and then put it out on the Internet. However, some of the stuff that makes it out there is just different.

    Fortunately, I’ve found four videos for you to check out that are unique, well-crafted (well, most of them are), and very interesting to watch. So make sure your title="How To Meter & Manage Computer Bandwidth Usage" href="http://www.makeuseof.com/tag/meter-manage-computer-bandwidth-usage/">bandwidth is clear, because here are four of the most bizarre music videos found on href="http://www.makeuseof.com/tags/youtube">YouTube.

    href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5hcVleGxx40">Basil Marceaux – “Come Christmas”

    src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/5hcVleGxx40" frameborder="0" width="580" height="325">

    I just really want to go ahead and get this out of the way. The chorus of this title="5 Last Minute Christmas Gift Ideas In Case You Get Stuck" href="http://www.makeuseof.com/tag/5-minute-christmas-gift-ideas/">Christmas tune, which states “Christmas turns me on,” over and over, is not sexual in in any form or fashion. To be honest, I don’t think the original creators would have intended any innuendo, but it is still awkward all the same.

    Perhaps you may remember href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1hvaeHllwtw">Basil Marceaux (dot com), the infamous candidate for governor of Tennessee (my home state) that had a rather interesting spot on a local news station about an half-an-hour from where I live. Well, it turns out that Mr. Marceaux decided he would make a home-grown Christmas video last year, and I’m sharing it with you just in time for the holidays.

    href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xMrN3Rh55uM">The Guild – “Game On”

    src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/xMrN3Rh55uM" frameborder="0" width="580" height="325">

    Felicia Day is definitely one of my favorite actresses (she’s just real), and she has a web series called “The Guild” that you might have heard of. The show is centered around her group of gamers for an online title="3 Ways To Prepare For The New Star Wars MMO [Gaming]" href="http://www.makeuseof.com/tag/3-ways-prepare-star-wars-mmo-gaming/">MMORPG – pretty cool idea.

    The Guild will occasionally make music videos, and this one may very well be my favorite. Done completely in a Bollywood style, this video brings out the joy of gaming with an Indian flair. It’s not bizarre because it’s bad, but it’s bizarre because of its concept.

    href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sLAEg5aTXAE">Rhett and Link – “The Perfect Bathroom Trip”

    src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/sLAEg5aTXAE" frameborder="0" width="580" height="325">

    Rhett and Link are probably the finest Internetainers out there, and they actually have quite a few music videos already out there. There are their epic rap battles, and then their song about pillows. However, this one takes the cake for being the most bizarre.

    Bent entirely on describing the perfect bathroom trip, Rhett and Link serenade fellow YouTube star Julian Smith as he takes care of his business and during the events that follow after. Seriously, it’s terribly awkward. Oh, and iJustine makes an appearance in the water closet.

    href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C1P38oxSuA8">J. Kap – “I Owe?”

    src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/C1P38oxSuA8" frameborder="0" width="580" height="325">

    J. Kap, who’s “just an artist living in the basement of his parent’s home” seems like an interesting guy, and I can relate to his worries of finances – it’s hard to choose between doing what you love and diving into something that is considered stable. Both are great choices, but they each have their pros and cons.

    However, I don’t think I’d actually make a music video about my money situation. One, it costs a lot to make a music video, and that could be used elsewhere. Two, I guess I just like dealing with my title="Get Paid For Your Opinions By Completing Online Surveys For Paid Viewpoint" href="http://www.makeuseof.com/tag/paid-opinions-completing-online-surveys-paid-viewpoint/">financial issues myself. However, J. Kap did, and you can watch it right now.

    Conclusion

    I love music videos, but there are a lot of crazy ones out there, and these are exclusive to the Internet. They are all fairly well done (save for Basil), but they are just bizarre!

    What other bizarre music videos on the Internet do you know about? What do you think of the ones shown here?

    Add 5 Second Leading Videos To Your Photographs With GLMPS [iOS]

    class="align-right" src="http://main.makeuseoflimited.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/08/00a_glmps_logo.jpg" alt="" />Whenever you look at a picture, have you ever wondered what kind of events led to that captured moment? Was the birthday boy aware that his face was going to light up when he saw his birthday cake? Or how the baby girl turned from giggling to screaming when she saw the cat behind her.

    While you can capture the complete event using video, I think that taking still class="vt-p" href="http://www.makeuseof.com/tags/photos/">photos is the best way to capture the feeling of a moment. class="vt-p" href="http://glmps.com/">GLMPS ( class="vt-p" href="http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/glmps/id452548312?mt=8">iTunes link) is a free class="vt-p" href="http://www.makeuseof.com/dir/tag/ios/">iOS app which tries to bridge the video and photo world together. For every static picture you take, you’ll get a glimpse of the moment that precedes the shot – in the form of a five second video.

    Just Set & Shoot

    Just like almost every other app that exists today, GLMPS has added a social twist to its features. Currently it ties itself to four social services -  class="vt-p" href="http://www.makeuseof.com/tags/facebook/">Facebook, class="vt-p" href="http://www.makeuseof.com/tags/twitter/">Twitter, class="vt-p" href="http://www.makeuseof.com/tags/foursquare/">Foursquare, and class="vt-p" href="http://www.makeuseof.com/tags/tumblr/">Tumblr. Before using the app, you have to log in using either your Facebook or Twitter account, and give permission for GLMPS to connect to your social account.

    style="text-align: center;"> class="aligncenter" style="border: 1px solid black;" src="http://main.makeuseoflimited.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/08/01a_social.jpg" alt="01a social" width="580" height="415" border="0" />

    Then you will go through several short introduction screens. After tapping on the “Get Started” button, you will arrive at a random popular image. Other than viewing the picture and video, GLMPS allows you to like, leave comment, and share the post. Tap the location pin to find out where the image was taken and if you want to view more popular entries, tap on the top right button.

    style="text-align: center;"> class="aligncenter" style="border: 1px solid black;" src="http://main.makeuseoflimited.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/08/01b_get_Start.jpg" alt="01b get Start" width="580" height="415" border="0" />

    Tap on the “Back” button to go back to the main interface of GLMPS.

    To start taking pictures (and videos), tap the camera icon on the main interface. Every time you snap the button, you will get a picture and a short five-second video of the event before the picture is taken.

    style="text-align: center;"> class="aligncenter" style="border: 1px solid black;" src="http://main.makeuseoflimited.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/08/02a_first_shot.jpg" alt="02a first shot" width="580" height="415" border="0" />

    The result will be saved in your iPhone, ready to be uploaded to the GLMPS server and shared via one of the available social networks. If you want to upload the result to Foursquare and/or Tumblr, you have to do it before you tap the “Post” button.

    style="text-align: center;"> class="aligncenter" style="border: 1px solid black;" src="http://main.makeuseoflimited.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/08/02b_name_save.jpg" alt="02b name save" width="580" height="415" border="0" />

    Once the result is posted to the GLMPS server, you can still share it via Facebook, Twitter, email, and SMS, by tapping the “More” button at the bottom right of the screen (the one with three dots). To see all the images plus videos that you’ve taken, tap the “Grid View” button at the top right next to the camera button.

    style="text-align: center;"> class="aligncenter" style="border: 1px solid black;" src="http://main.makeuseoflimited.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/08/03a_sharing_collection.jpg" alt="03a sharing collection" width="580" height="415" border="0" />

    To access GLMPS “Options“, tap the “Settings” button on the top left of the screen. You can log in to the social services via Options. The settings screen also gives you access to your GLMPS friends.

    style="text-align: center;"> class="aligncenter" style="border: 1px solid black;" src="http://main.makeuseoflimited.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/08/04a_settings_glmps.jpg" alt="04a settings glmps" width="580" height="415" border="0" />

    The Good, The Bad & The Future

    After playing around with GLMPS for a while, there are a few things I could say about it. The first one is about the uploading process – it’s fast. This can be both good and bad. While the good part is obvious, it might be bad for some people because ‘fast’ also means that the quality of the result must’ve been compromised for the small file size. I personally think that the quality is still acceptable.

    The thing that I found annoying was the long and blatant promotion that GLMPS put in every picture that I posted to Facebook. I don’t mind telling people that the picture plus video that I posted was made using GLMPS, but I think that the developer is trying too hard in this department.

    In general, I found that the idea behind GLMPS is nice and the app could be one of the favorite picture sharing applications. If you love to take and class="vt-p" href="http://www.makeuseof.com/dir/tag/photo-sharing/">share pictures and videos, you should try the app.

    Do you think attaching leading video to a picture is a good idea? Share your opinions using the comment below. Also don’t forget to check out these other mobile picture sharing applications: class="vt-p" href="http://www.makeuseof.com/dir/instagram-photo-editing-and-sharing/">Instagram, class="vt-p" href="http://www.makeuseof.com/tag/snapbucket-fun-mobile-photo-styling-sharing-app-photobucket-ios-android-smartphones/">Snapbucket, and class="vt-p" href="http://www.makeuseof.com/tag/view-share-photos-wirelessly-pcs-macs-ios-devices-cinq/">Cinq.

    The Man With No Life – A Simple & Free Way To Download YouTube Videos

    class="align-right" src="http://main.makeuseoflimited.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/07/image86.png?54167" alt="" />I have been professionally blogging about software for over two years now, and The Man With No Life is hands-down the best name for an app I’ve covered so far. It has absolutely nothing to do with what the application does, and couldn’t be farther than traditional SEO wisdom. In a nutshell, it’s a free YouTube downloader for Windows.

    When you open the app, you’re greeted with a huge, intrusive banner and Facebook friends area:

    class="aligncenter" src="http://main.makeuseoflimited.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/07/image87.png?54167" border="0" alt="image" width="580" height="501" />

    Fortunately, that can quickly be fixed simply by resizing the window (thanks for not disabling the option to resize the window, Man With No Life). After resizing the window, the interface looks much saner:

    class="aligncenter" src="http://main.makeuseoflimited.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/07/image88.png?54167" border="0" alt="image" width="580" height="346" />

    That’s more like it. There isn’t even a scroll bar. Next, let’s switch over to the Search window. This is no more than an embedded browser with Google as its default search (yes, Google rather than YouTube, for some reason). You can also paste in the full URL for any video you wish to download:

    class="aligncenter" src="http://main.makeuseoflimited.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/07/image89.png?54167" border="0" alt="image" width="580" height="376" />

    As soon as you see the title (“Did you hear a click?” in this case) in the top-left text box, you can click Download. You are then taken to the Transfers tab, where you can watch the video download:

    class="aligncenter" src="http://main.makeuseoflimited.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/07/image90.png?54167" border="0" alt="image" width="580" height="109" />

    … or fail miserably, if the title happens to have a question mark or other strange characters. In that case, just drop the special characters and hope for the best. It worked for the video above, as you can see. Once the download is complete, you can switch over to the My Library tab so see your video. Sadly, the context menu is not very informative, and the file path is not listed.

    class="aligncenter" src="http://main.makeuseoflimited.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/07/image91.png?54167" border="0" alt="image" width="419" height="224" />

    To see where your files actually get saved, you’ll need to switch over to the Settings tab.

    class="aligncenter" src="http://main.makeuseoflimited.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/07/image92.png?54167" border="0" alt="image" width="580" height="393" />

    Here you can see the default path for the files, as well as the quality setting. This is a bit of a simplification, as YouTube offers MP4-compressed files in multiple resolutions, so saying MP4 is “Highest quality” is not completely accurate.

    Alternatives

    Is the Man With No Life the best way to download YouTube videos? Definitely not. To be honest, the main thing it’s got going for it is the name. The interface is simple, which is good, but novice users may have trouble figuring out where their download went. There are several other services you can use if you want to download videos off YouTube. My personal favorite is class="vt-p" href="http://jdownloader.org/">JDownloader, which is a Java-based solution so it’s quite heavy (but can do lots more other than download YouTube videos).

    If JDownloader is a bit too heavy for you, you might be interested in an online alternative such as class="vt-p" href="http://keep-tube.com/">Keep Tube. It couldn’t be simpler to use: All you need to do is edit the URL for the video in your browser put the word keep right before youtube. So to download a video with a URL like class="vt-p" href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cRBcP6MmE8g">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cRBcP6MmE8g you would just need to change it to class="vt-p" href="http://www.keepyoutube.com/watch?v=cRBcP6MmE8g">http://www.keepyoutube.com/watch?v=cRBcP6MmE8g . Keep Tube also uses Java, but as a browser plug-in, and is very lean and fast. It doesn’t have a crazy name like The Man With No Life, but it’s very usable.

    What’s your preferred way to download videos off YouTube? Let us know in the comments.

    Convert Videos & Export Them To iTunes Easily With Evom [Mac]

    class="align-right" src="http://main.makeuseoflimited.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/06/0_evom.jpg" alt="export videos to itunes" />Anyone who is a fan of converting and watching videos on their iPad or other class="vt-p" href="http://www.makeuseof.com/tags/ios/">iOS device will understand that this can be difficult at times. There are a lot of programs out there capable of getting the job done for you. So many, in fact, that one could argue that there are actually too many, which can make it even more confusing trying to find the right one.

    Once you do find the right tool, you still have to face the task of getting your newly converted files over to iTunes and syncing them to your devices, which can be more difficult than it sounds.

    With class="vt-p" href="http://thelittleappfactory.com/evom/">Evom for Mac, however, this whole process is extremely easy. Evom is a lightweight video converter and transfer tool that will export converted videos directly to iTunes for you. If that doesn’t tickle your fancy…it’s high speed!

    What Is Evom?

    Evom, a product of the Little App Factory, enables you to drag-and-drop and convert videos quickly and easily. It lets you enjoy online content without being tethered to the web and, like I stated in the introduction, it was built for speed. It is designed to convert movie files and Flash videos quickly, taking advantage of your Mac’s multi-core processor, allowing you to get content off of the web and onto your favorite devices.

    With Evom, you can drag folders, individual files, or links into the program’s window to start, and your items will be converted for you and exported directly into iTunes or – optionally – saved to your desktop. Once converted, your videos will be compatible with your iPods, iPhones, iPads, and many other devices.

    How Do I Use Evom?

    Although I gave you a rough idea of how Evom works above, let’s take a closer look at the actual process from start to finish. The first thing you’ll need to do if you want to take advantage of Evom’s power is head over to the website and class="vt-p" href="http://thelittleappfactory.com/evom/">download the app.

    class="aligncenter" src="http://main.makeuseoflimited.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/06/1_evom.png" alt="export videos to itunes" width="291" height="403" />

    Once you’re ready to go with Evom, just drag or specify the video folder you would like to convert video from. If you leave the iTunes option selected, your videos will go straight to your iTunes folder after conversion to be synced with your iOS devices.

    When you drop video files that you want to convert, a configuration box will pop up asking you to specify the output format, as well as the output folder, title, and quality of video.

    If you don’t want Evom to convert videos for some specific device, you can always choose to convert video in a specific format. Evom supports the AVI, FLV, MP4, HTML5, MOV, MPG, and WMV formats. Also, you can extract audio out of a video file and convert it into OGG and MP3 format.

    As a side note, Evom is also capable of converting selected videos directly to your Apple TV in a compatible format.

    Once you’ve made all of your selections and set up class="vt-p" href="http://thelittleappfactory.com/evom/">Evom just the way you want it, you can go ahead and click Convert to transform your files into watchable ones.

The first thing you’ll need to do if you want to take advantage of Evom’s power is head over to the website and class="vt-p" href="http://thelittleappfactory.com/evom/">download the app.

    class="aligncenter" src="http://main.makeuseoflimited.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/06/1_evom.png" alt="export videos to itunes" width="291" height="403" />

    How To Download All Videos From A YouTube Playlist

    class="align-right" src="http://main.makeuseoflimited.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/06/intro.png" alt="youtube playlist downloader"/>A bit after I figured out that there is a wealth of href="http://www.makeuseof.com/tag/14-youtube-playlists-watch-learn-programming-quickly/">programming tutorials on YouTube, I thought it might be a good idea to download them all so I can view them on the go on my mobile devices. Since the majority of these videos have been kindly organized into neat playlists, the question now seemed to be whether there is a way to download whole playlists. I certainly wasn’t the only one to ask this question. In fact, our readers have also href="http://www.makeuseof.com/answers/download-youtube-playlist/">wondered the same thing on the Answers community.

    Today, we’ll go over two ways you can download entire playlists, one which should make Firefox users ecstatic, and another Windows program which presents some handy options for mass video downloaders.

    href="https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/bytubed-bulk-youtube-video-dow/">BYTubeD – Bulk Youtube Video Downloader (Firefox Addon)

    This Firefox 4-compatible add-on is a simple but fantastic little tool to help you find download links for multiple videos. Once you’re in a playlist page, you can right-click and select the BYTubeD option. class="aligncenter" style="margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;" src="http://main.makeuseoflimited.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/06/2011-06-12_111537.png" border="0" alt=" youtube playlist downloader" width="427" height="543" /> The button can also be invoked from any YouTube pages with multiple videos, such as search results from a keyword. /> class="aligncenter" style="border: 0pt none;" src="http://main.makeuseoflimited.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/06/2011-06-12_111715.png" alt="download youtube playlist" width="570" height="628" /> /> After you click on the BYTubeD link, a window will appear with the list of video links it has found. Now this is the part that confused me at first, because I didn’t quite read the href="http://bytubed.blogspot.com/">instructions or the Help section. You have to select the videos you want to download by pressing Ctrl + A to select all videos or hold Ctrl while you click on the specific links you want. /> class="aligncenter" style="border: 0pt none;" src="http://main.makeuseoflimited.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/06/2011-06-12_113348.jpg" alt="download youtube playlist" width="580" height="454" />Once you have a few neon green links, you can select the destination folder, whether you want the videos in FLV format or (MP4 if they’re available), and whether to generate links or enqueue videos for download. /> class="aligncenter" style="border: 0pt none;" src="http://main.makeuseoflimited.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/06/2011-06-12_113322.png" width="530" height="409" />If you chose Enqueue for Download and pressed Start, the default Firefox download manager will popup and show the current downloads. /> class="aligncenter" style="border: 0pt none;" src="http://main.makeuseoflimited.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/06/2011-06-12_105750.png" alt="download youtube playlist" width="527" height="487" /> /> Since I have DownThemAll, I chose Generate Links, so BYTubeD will create a new HTML file with links to the videos I selected so I can use DownThemAll on the current page. Generate Links should work for other download managers as well. /> class="aligncenter" style="border: 0pt none;" src="http://main.makeuseoflimited.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/06/2011-06-12_114316.png" border="0" alt="download youtube audio" width="580" height="426" /> /> I have found BYTubeD to work flawlessly. If you don’t use Firefox, you can still download multiple videos from a playlist with the following program.

    href="http://www.dvdvideosoft.com/products/dvd/Free-YouTube-Download.htm">DVDVideoSoft’s Free Youtube Download [Windows]

    DVDVideoSoft has a variety of converter software, but the one we are interested in is the href="http://www.dvdvideosoft.com/products/dvd/Free-YouTube-Download.htm">YouTube Download 3.0.1. When you’re installing the latest build, make sure to carefully choose what to install, because for older versions of other program files by DVDVideoSoft, there could be crapware offers sometimes. /> class="aligncenter" style="border: 0pt none;" src="http://main.makeuseoflimited.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/06/youtubeplaylistdownloader.png" border="0" alt="youtubeplaylistdownloader" width="513" height="398" /> /> Once you have installed the YouTube Download program, you can paste in any video or playlist URL and choose the video quality and video format, such as MP3, FLV and 3GP. /> class="aligncenter" style="border: 0pt none;" src="http://main.makeuseoflimited.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/06/2011-06-12_124825.png" width="580" height="413" /> /> For AVI, you have to click on Edit, which will bring up the preset editor. /> class="aligncenter" style="border: 0pt none;" src="http://main.makeuseoflimited.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/06/2011-06-12_125812.png" width="517" height="487" /> /> One of the best parts about this downloader program is that you can preview the size of the individual videos and the playlist as a whole depending on the video format you choose. You can also select individual videos from a playlist that you want to download and which ones you want to skip. /> class="aligncenter" style="border: 0pt none;" src="http://main.makeuseoflimited.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/06/2011-06-12_130812.jpg" alt="youtube playlist downloader" width="579" height="365" /> /> The href="http://www.dvdvideosoft.com/guides/free-youtube-download.htm">instructions for this program suggest that you can also use this program to download all of the videos from a channel as well.

    For Linux users, href="http://linuxappfinder.com/package/youtube-dl">youtube-dl is incredibly powerful and also supports playlist downloading. See href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bV9L5Ht9LgY">this video for the how-to. Does anyone know if there’s a good YouTube playlist downloader for Mac?

    Now, let’s hear from you. What do you use to download YouTube playlists? Enlighten us in the comments!

    Gmediafinder – Watch & Download YouTube Videos And Music Without Flash [Linux & Windows]

    class="align-right" src="http://main.makeuseoflimited.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/06/intro.jpg" alt="download youtube videos" />What’s better than watching class="vt-p" href="http://www.makeuseof.com/tags/youtube/">YouTube videos in your browser? Watching them on your desktop, minus Flash of course! That’s exactly what Gmediafinder for class="vt-p" href="http://www.makeuseof.com/service/linux/">Linux and class="vt-p" href="http://www.makeuseof.com/service/windows/">Windows provides – an Adobe-free solution to perusing the YouTube catalogue. With support for video downloads and access to some great content from some other lesser known sources, Gmediafinder hides plenty of tricks up its sleeve.

    If Flash is too cumbersome for you, and you enjoy being able to download your favourite YouTube videos, then Gmediafinder might just be the perfect solution.

    Streaming & Downloading

    The application itself really couldn’t be easier to use. Once launched, the first thing you’ll see is the Playlist view and everything you need to get streaming. Pick a source from the drop-down box (more on sources later), enter a search query and any results that match will be displayed in the left hand column.

    style="text-align: center;"> class="aligncenter" src="http://main.makeuseoflimited.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/06/play_youtube.jpg" alt="download youtube videos" width="602" height="521" />

    Then it’s just a single click to load the video (or audio) of your choice in record time – the video doesn’t take long to load as there’s no Flash video player to load first. I found using Gmediafinder much faster than browsing YouTube via a web interface, with the added ability to download too!

    Once you’ve found a video you like and fancy downloading, a small drop-down box should appear next to the Download box under your search results. You can use this to choose your preferred quality of video, which is limited to the versions YouTube has available for streaming.

    style="text-align: center;"> class="aligncenter" src="http://main.makeuseoflimited.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/06/downloading_video.png" alt="download music from youtube" width="576" height="466" />

    A simple click of Download takes you to your downloads page, and the video will immediately begin downloading to the location specified in the Download path drop-down box. It’s then up to you to decide what to do with your new FLV or MP4 video.

    By default YouTube will only search for videos at the 640×320 resolution. If you’re after HD content and if your Internet connection can handle it, you’ll want to change this option in Settings. Here you can also turn the other search engines on or off; by default they’re all enabled.

    style="text-align: center;"> class="aligncenter" src="http://main.makeuseoflimited.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/06/options.png" alt="download music from youtube" width="576" height="466" />

    Services

    Gmediafinder doesn’t just embrace Flash-free YouTube, but a couple of other sources of entertainment – class="vt-p" href="http://www.makeuseof.com/tag/free-mp3-music-downloads/">MP3 search engines. You know the rules by now – if you don’t own it, it’s not legal. Audio playback is pretty good too, as is downloading files you’ve searched for. You even get a decent selection of visualizations to enjoy whilst you listen.

    style="text-align: center;"> class="aligncenter" src="http://main.makeuseoflimited.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/06/audio_playback.jpg" alt="download music from youtube" width="580" height="502" />

    In addition to YouTube, Gmediastreamer supports the following search engines:

    class="vt-p" href="http://www.dilandau.eu/">Dilandau

    A European-run MP3 search engine that allows you to “Download music for FREE”, though with a limited catalogue.

    class="vt-p" href="http://azmp3s.com/">MP3Realm

    Now pointing to azmp3s.com, another slightly shady looking MP3 search engine that offers streaming, downloading and a lyrics lookup service. I’ve noticed not all files will stream, for some unknown reason.

    class="vt-p" href="http://skreemr.com/">Skreemr

    An MP3 search engine that claims to deliver music, remixes, podcasts and ringtones and works well.

    class="vt-p" href="http://tagoo.ru/en/">Tagoo

    A Russian MP3 search engine, quite possibly legal in Russia but probably not anywhere else. Some adverts on the site are probably NSFW (not safe for work) but accessing via Gmediafinder gets rid of those anyway!

    class="vt-p" href="http://www.imusicz.net/">Imusicz

    Another questionable search engine that comes with its own class="vt-p" href="http://status.imusicz.net/">status page that you can check if your results aren’t showing up.

    Download & Install

    To install Gmediafinder on Ubuntu Linux, simply paste the following into a new Terminal window:

    sudo apt-add-repository ppa:s-lagui/ppa /> sudo apt-get update /> sudo apt-get install gmediafinder

    There is a version available for Mandriva Linux at class="vt-p" href="http://gnomefiles.org/content/show.php/Gmediafinder?content=138588">Gnome Files.

    If you’re using another variant of Linux you can try to class="vt-p" href="http://www.makeuseof.com/tag/compile-install-tar-gz-tar-bz2-files-ubuntu-linux/">compile from source, you can find out detailed instructions regarding this at the class="vt-p" href="https://github.com/smolleyes/gmediafinder">Gmediafinder github homepage.

    style="text-align: center;"> class="aligncenter" src="http://main.makeuseoflimited.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/06/github.png" alt="download youtube videos" width="580" height="412" />

    Windows users first must download and install class="vt-p" href="http://penguincape.org/downloads/smo/gmediafinder/vcredist_x86.exe">this (32bit) or class="vt-p" href="http://penguincape.org/downloads/smo/gmediafinder/vcredist_x64.exe">this (64bit) and then download and run the Gmediafinder installer from class="vt-p" href="http://penguincape.org/downloads/smo/gmediafinder/gmediafinder_setup.exe">here (both 32bit and 64bit versions). The project doesn’t seem to have a dedicated homepage, though you can find out more at the class="vt-p" href="http://gnomefiles.org/content/show.php/Gmediafinder?content=138588">Gnome Files website.

    Conclusion

    Gmediafinder is a fantastic little tool for those of you who appreciate a Flash-free YouTube experience and the ability to download your favourite video and audio files. The program is responsive, simple and not bogged down with unnecessary extras, making it the slickest streamer and downloader I’ve used in a while.

    Download, stream and give Adobe the heave-ho with Gmediafinder; another fantastic piece of cross-platform freeware. />

    Mobli – View Mobile Photos & Videos About The Things You Love [iPhone]

    class="align-right" src="http://main.makeuseoflimited.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/0_mobli.jpg" alt="iphone media sharing app" />Photo sharing apps have officially taken off, thanks primarily to mobile devices. These kinds of apps let you take pictures on your phone and share them with your social graph. There are a lot of great apps out there that promote social photo sharing, like href="http://www.makeuseof.com/tag/share-life-photos-free-instagram-app-iphone/">Instagram, href="http://www.makeuseof.com/tag/color-hottest-smartphone-photo-sharing-app-androidiphone/">Color, href="http://www.makeuseof.com/tag/path-personal-photo-sharing-app-waiting-iphone/">Path, and href="http://www.makeuseof.com/tag/share-iphone-android-photos-style-picplz/">Picplz, for starters. Each of these applications has seen success in the mobile space and is helping to transform how we use our phones, and they all offer something unique that makes them worth using.

    Enter Mobli, the iPhone media sharing app that instantaneously uploads your pictures and videos in the background while taking them. This app is hot on the scene with plenty of interesting features to get us all excited about. In this article, I’ll show you what those features are and why you should add Mobli to your photo sharing arsenal.

    What Is Mobli?

    href="http://www.mobli.com/">Mobli enables people to quickly and easily share high-quality photos and videos that are uploaded in real-time. With the integration of channels and geo-location, users can share their events and experiences with communities of individuals looking to do the same thing.

    “Mobli is a real-time visual media platform made up of subject-based channels such as people, places, and topics. Mobli enables users to see the world through other people’s eyes!”

    class="aligncenter" src="http://main.makeuseoflimited.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/Screen-shot-2011-05-23-at-1.07.50-PM.jpg" alt="iphone media sharing app" width="324" height="483" />

    Simply put, Mobli is great for seeing what’s going on somewhere you couldn’t be and for showing others the cool places you do go to. Whether you’re at a concert or sporting event, Mobli gives you the platform to connect with others and watch “Channels”.

    class="aligncenter" src="http://main.makeuseoflimited.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/Screen-shot-2011-05-23-at-1.06.30-PM.jpg" alt="iphone photo sharing app free" width="323" height="480" />

    For instance, let’s say it’s Sunday and your favorite football team is playing. If you are at home watching the game, you can use Mobli to view your team’s Channel and see any photo or video taken during the game in your feed. You can interact with other fans and “see” the game from different angles, making it feel like you are there. If you are there, you can share content directly from your seat.

    class="aligncenter" src="http://main.makeuseoflimited.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/Screen-shot-2011-05-23-at-1.06.43-PM.jpg" alt="iphone photo sharing app free" width="322" height="481" />

    On Mobli, you can see what is happening as it happens through a live feed, as well as view what is going on around you at any time. You can also leave comments and interact with others socially through pictures and videos.

    class="aligncenter" src="http://main.makeuseoflimited.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/Screen-shot-2011-05-23-at-1.07.30-PM.jpg" alt="iphone media sharing app" width="323" height="483" />

    If you would like to share the photos and videos you take with Mobli with your personal networks, you can connect the app to your Facebook, Twitter, and email accounts as well.

    Conclusion

    Mobli is currently available for href="http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/mobli/id426679976?mt=8#">iOS devices (iTunes link) with versions of the mobile app for Android and BlackBerry still in alpha. You can head over to Mobli’s href="http://www.mobli.com/">homepage to check out what’s popular and see the types of Channels and photos you’re likely to find on the app.

    I’m a fan of social photo sharing apps, and even though there is certainly a lot of competition in this space this generation of apps seems to be thriving. I like the idea of using my photos to help depict an event I’m at rather than just putting them on display for everyone to see.  What do you think? />
