cool, thanks for the tip :-)

I got EVGA Precision, and it will also display GPU temps as well, but your probably right about my video card, I probably shouldn’t overclock it anymore lol

I don’t recommend overclocking graphics cards. They don’t give much boost of performance in games. I’ve tried it with many settings with my card and your EVGA GTX 260 Superclocked is ALREADY overclocked which you shouldn’t be overclocking anymore. One more thing, you should download Realtemp 3.40 and run it everytime you start windows and set it so it will display your GPU temp on the taskbar. Monitor the temps and make sure it doesn’t go above 70C. I’d recommend another same card in SLI.

I have a GTX 260 Superclocked, but I’m not sure how much to overclock it, but right now my PC’s out of commission, because my power supply blew and fried my motherboard, AND the video card, BUT thankfully EVGA replaced it no questions asked, which is pretty good, cuz other companies like BFG and XFX say specifically they wont cover for external causes such as a PSU exploding, (not the exact words) lol

but I do wanna find out how much to OC my card when I get my new PC built in a few weeks :-)

  4. drakzin says:

Well i recently overclocked my card to get better performance. I overclocked my 9800GT which i had modified it with a cooler and passive heatsinks for the video RAM. The stock clocks were 600/900/1500 (core/mem/shader) and i overclocked them to 650/900/1620 and it ran perfectly fine but if you overclock too far, your system may become instable and damage your components. I’m overclocking a graphics card and thats different to overclocking something else like CPU or RAM.

  5. 1981z28camaro says:

yeah, I just don’t know what settings to change and why lol (With overclocking)

I may try doing raid in the future too, we’ll see :-)

  6. drakzin says:

Haha, same here never ever RAID drives. Though from what i’ve seen i don’t think RAID would decrease the lifespan of your hard drive. If you run your 2 drives in RAID 1, the data outputted but the motherboard will be duplicated to the second drive. I’m not sure how to run RAID array, but you could google it or maybe Albert has a video.
About overclocking, yeah i’ve never done that before and found it was kind of safe sa long as you keep temperatures down and don’t overclock too far.I tried itsok

  7. 1981z28camaro says:

I’ve heard that raiding your drives can increase the risk of a drive failure, in turning losing both drives due to them being raided..

just telling you what I have heard. :-)

also, I have no idea how to raid drives, I have been using computers my whole life, but the two things I never tried learning yet was overclocking, and raiding.

maybe you can advise me a little on raiding :-)

If you wanna back up all your games on your PC, then run it in RAID 1 with your second 1TB HDD. What the 2nd HDD (1TB HDD) will do is basically write everything that you do in the first drive. This is a much better backup rather than having to do it manually.

    sweet

That’s correct. Actually, it does NOT come with a power adapter for wall plug, ONLY a USB Power Cable. The DC port is designed to be used with a USB port. That’s why it says 5V on the DC port. But I’m sure you can match a power adapter with it if you really need one. Personally, I use USB mode most of the time, so only USB Data Cable is required. Hope this helps. :)

  11. Intiom says:

I know I’m necro’ing a 4 month old comment here: but I assume that what you are saying is that the usb to DC cable would be for powering in eSATA mode if you have no wall plug available?

  12. 1981z28camaro says:

I just wanna back up all my games, I figured it out, and it’s MUCH cheaper to just simply buy a 1TB HD than to buy the amount of 8.5 GB Dual Layer DVD’s that you would need match the space, and it would cost you alot more, and eventually the data on DVD’s doesn’t remain, the life expectancy for DVD’s even in proper storage, and never used is like 10 years MAX.

So cheaper, more reliable, and takes up alot less space :-)

excellent product when it will be for Latin america???? :)

  14. benjasmine says:

folks, the USB data transfer cable DOES POWER the drive…

I have this product in front of me right now and the drive runs fine with just ONE USB cable.

    useful.

Love the enclosure’s brushed aluminum look.

I dont think a screwdriver is really a selling point…

Didn’t you hear him? Lazy computer geeks. LOL. :p

  19. emuman4evr says:

Someone needs to send the designers a notice of fail.

  20. theSCgosu says:

Actually it needs TWO usb connectors. One to transfer data and one to power.

  21. clarkeproductions says:

It Should only be about 2 or 3 mins

  22. clarkeproductions says:

Who actullty talks about hard drive enclousers for 5 minutes?

  23. maiglockchen says:

While I’m not sure Producer Dan isn’t standing there holding the facts up before him, I can safely say that if indeed that is what’s going on Albert has me fooled. Can you honestly look at Albert do his thing and not be convinced he knows the product? Especially during Tech Update when he shares his toy for the day with us.

  24. emuman4evr says:

That ONE cable would power the drive.

  25. jasa00 says:

    ill resay quest :

If i was using the USB cable for transfer, would that ONE cable ALSO power the drive or would i have to also use the USB power cable aswell?

I know you have to use USB power with esata
